Adam Richman Names “Best Sandwich in America” on Aug. 15, Two Philly Sandwiches in Top 10

Fans have been known to follow Adam Richman in his overeating trek across the country. After watching just one or two of the Man V Food episodes, you would know that much of his national food journey is made up of sandwiches…big sandwiches. Playing off his love for anything delicious between bread, the Travel Channel show, Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America, was a natural extension.

If you’ve been following then you know that a Philly favorite from the Reading Terminal Market, DiNic’s, was featured in the Northeast regional episode and won. Viewers were surprised to see the roast pork sandwich conquer challengers from Primanti Bros. in Pittsburgh and Katz Deli in New York City.

While that accomplishment should not be forgotten, the big reveal that makes all the difference is happening tonight at 9 p.m. on the Travel Channel. The finale will gather regional winners from previous episodes and choose a grand champion once and for all.

DiNic’s has definitely earned their spot among many other chomp-worthy candidates, but they’re not the only Philly representative. In addition to the 10 regional finalists, two surprise “wild card” sandwich challengers will be featured on the season finale. One of the wild cards will be a cheesesteak with peppers from John’s Roast Pork in South Philadelphia.

The odds are definitely in Philly’s favor tonight, representing 2 of the 12 sandwiches who will go head to head. Eventually, only one will reign according to Adam Richman’s final decision. Will John’s or DiNic’s be the ultimate?! Fingers crossed for Philly!
