Taste What You See on the Screen at NYC’s Food Film Fest

Have you ever watched a movie and felt distracted because the food just looked too darn good? There are probably a handful of people out there who dream about being present at the “imaginary” dinner feast from Hook, before and after the colorful cool whip food fight takes place. Whatever your favorite movie meal may be, the point is, most of us have them and it’s about time you do something about it.
The Food Film Fest is the answer. Presented in association with the James Beard Foundation, the Festival is a cinematic scratch n’ sniff where guests taste the food they see on the screen. The 2012 NYC Food Film Festival will take place October 18th to 21st, 2012 in New York City and November 15th to 17th, 2012 in Chicago.
The festival is a delicious celebration for the foodie/movie buff in all of us. Running for the third year in a row as a competition, the Food Film Fest will present awards in multiple categories, including: Best Feature, Best Short, Best Super-Short, Best Food Porn, Food Filmmaker of the Year and the Audience Choice Award. Better yet, the Food Festival is partnered with the Food Bank For New York City, which will receive top tier integration throughout the Festival to remind guests that every New Yorker deserves to be fed. A portion of the festival proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank.
The official film selections have been made for 2012 but tickets have yet to go on sale.
